Polite Tools (“we”, “us”) operates https://politetools.com. This policy explains what data we do and do not collect. The short version: the files you process with our tools never leave your device.

Your files stay on your device

Every tool on Polite Tools runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you merge a PDF, compress an image, or use any other tool, the file is read, processed, and saved locally on your own device. We have no server that receives, stores, or has any access to your files. We cannot see them, and nothing is uploaded.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site:

• Analytics. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (page views, country, device type). This data is anonymized and never tied to the files you process.
• Local storage. Some tools save your preferences (for example, your consent choice) in your browser’s local storage. This never leaves your device.

Advertising and cookies

We display ads to keep every tool free. When you consent, we use Google AdSense, which may set cookies and use device identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can decline this on our consent banner, in which case the ad script is not loaded. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal files or account data, there is very little personal information for us to hold. For advertising data handled by Google, you can manage or withdraw consent at any time through the consent banner or your browser settings.

Children’s privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
